Two errors at the Cardinal Game

Pigs Spotted at Bush Stadium

Joy and I got to go to a St. Louis Cardinals game Tuesday night. I'm not a big Cardinals fan, but this is the last series in their current stadium. After the season, they are going to blow the thing up. So I went more for the experience and enjoyment of the night instead of watching the cardinals lose to the Astros.

We weren't the only ones there not glued into every moment of the game. Our neighbors in row 6, seat 9 and 10 were a bit distracted too.

These guys helped strengthen the stereotype that guys are pigs. We sat next to two late thirties, early forties guys who were balding, a bit over weight and complete pigs. These guys were turned around 80 percent of the game looking at the crowd and the stairs hoping to catch a glance at any female. Married, single, young, and old...these guys were scoping out every female. Then after a few elbow nudges and grins, the guys would look at the field to see if they missed any baseball action. One got a phone call and even said, "It's hard to watch the game with all the pretty girls walking by."

The night was enjoyable overall. Although the Cardinals lost, and had one error...the big disappointment came from the the two errors in seats 9 and 10.

A few observations and thoughts:

1. Girls need to know what guys think when they dress to flaunt their stuff.

2. Most men are carnal pigs...there are exceptions.

3. We all need help realizing our flesh is weak. We need to be on our guard. We need to protect our spiritual lives by guarding are eyes, thoughts, and behaviors.

4. Foot-long brats at 9 p.m. create a warzone in your gut well into the night.

Whut up TravMan.
For reals I didn't mean anything bad by my post about the body of Christ. We echoed what you said about the difference between the body and the church (building) in one of our devo times here in Mexico.

Thanks for "bringing it to our table" about how we act sometimes as men. It's unfortunate that sometimes it gets shrugged off as a "boys will be boys" attitude.

Hope to see you again soon.

Reality- the "Christian world" makes it difficult to talk about issues like this so I choose to be anonymous. But the fact of the matter, not to offend previous comments, is that men are attracted to women. They dress that way, not because it's gross, but because it is appealing. Men love the female body! Does that mean it is right though, absolutely not, so we must train ourselves to "LOOK AWAY"

I have been around the block and realize that this is an issue for many guys, but to say that we get angry when men look at women is just plain hypocritical. We are never above that so don't think you are because that is when you will fall the hardest.

Temptation is a daily struggle and we must attack it daily to prevent the problem from over taking us. No matter what it may be! I just get sick of Christians who don't realize the world we live in. It's a problem, and will continue to be when it is something that cannot be addressed because we voice our opinions about how it makes us "mad" or is "gross." Please don't make it more difficult for people to come forward about their problems!

and...

just because we don't make it well known or obvious that we are "scoping" out the ladies doesn't mean that you are innocent in what you harbor inside.

Meditate on Scripture- Colossians 3

I think there can be different levels of looking, or "scoping"
- The casual look and notice
- The longer gaze, and wonder
- The gauking and mental undressing
- The visual assault with complete perverse intentions

Mr. Anonymous may be right that all men find themselves looking from time to time. But not all are guilty of complete perversion with their eyes and minds.

I couldn't agree more with the above comment. But I did not say all men.

I said many.

men are pigs
